The complete firelighter set is handmade in South Africa and manufactured according to the motto "local is lekker". This clean-burning barbecue firelighter burns for 20 minutes and turns your wood or charcoal into a crackling fire. The best thing about it is that the sponge stone is super durable and you can use it again and again.

HOW IT WORKS: The special sponge stone absorbs the oil supplied and burns it continuously over a period of 20 minutes with a very intense flame. Thanks to the large and hot flame, you can also get slightly damp wood to burn well.

You can use a container of your choice for transportation. Place the oil with the sponge stone in it. This means your firelighter is ready for use immediately and everywhere.

Sponge stone, what is it? The material from which the sponge stone is made is a by-product of copper extraction. The material is upcycled under high pressure to make our sponge stone firelighter. This fireproof stone has the property of absorbing oil like a sponge and releasing it slowly and continuously. The stone itself is completely fireproof and can be reused almost indefinitely.
