For Peter and Svenja it is clear: life is too short for "later" and so the two quit their jobs and apartment and fly to Alaska, where they buy a van and convert it into a campervan. With it they travel across North and Central America. After "little detours" via Hawaii by bike and the South Seas as well as as backpackers in the Balkans, they eventually continue with the van life. With a new vehicle Svenja and Peter start in South America again into the adventure. Always with the goal to have no further destination at some point and to finally be "tired of travelling". True to the motto: "We don't travel to escape life, but so that life doesn't escape us."
In her book, Svenja recounts her encounters with wild bears and equally less tame border officials. Of the ups and downs of vanlife, of blowouts and apparent total losses. About travelling when a global pandemic suddenly breaks out. And how, when things look at their worst, somehow everything turns out everything turns out all right again.
