SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR LIGHT CHAINS

WARNINGS & SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Warning and safety instructions for string lights with USB-C connection (for outdoor use)

When using a string light with a USB-C connector that is suitable for outdoor use, there are several safety precautions to be observed to ensure safe use. In particular, note that the USB-C connector is not waterproof.

  1. use and connection
  • Suitable for outdoor use : This string light is designed for outdoor use. It can be used outside in dry weather without any problem, but make sure that the connector (USB-C) does not come into direct contact with water in rain or other wet conditions.
  • Connector not waterproof : The USB-C connector and cable are not waterproof. Make sure that the connector is always protected from moisture, rain or wetness. If necessary, use a waterproof cover or protective case for the USB-C connector when using the string lights outdoors.
  • Check power source : Only connect the string lights to a suitable USB-C power source (e.g. a weatherproof USB adapter, power bank or suitable power adapter). Make sure that the voltage corresponds to the recommended specifications (usually 5V).
  1. Avoiding overheating
  • Do not overload : Do not connect multiple string lights to a single power source unless specifically recommended by the manufacturer to avoid overloading.
  • Do not cover : Do not cover the string lights with materials that may hinder heat dissipation, as this could lead to overheating.
  • Ensure air circulation : Make sure that the string of lights is sufficiently ventilated and does not accumulate heat.
  1. Safety when handling
  • Avoid short circuits : Make sure the USB-C port and cables are not damaged. A faulty cable or connector can cause short circuits or fire.
  • No direct water contact : Make sure that the USB-C port does not come into contact with water, as this could cause damage to the electronics. In wet conditions, the port should always be protected from water.
  • Do not pull or bend : Avoid bending or pulling the cables sharply as this may cause damage.
  1. storage and preservation
  • Store the cable safely : Store the string lights in a dry, cool place when not in use and take care not to damage the cable.
  • Do not store in direct sunlight : Do not store the string lights in places exposed to direct sunlight to avoid material fatigue or discoloration.
  1. maintenance and inspection
  • Regular inspection : Check the string lights regularly for possible damage to cables, connectors or lights. If any parts are found to be defective, the string lights should be taken out of service immediately and either repaired or replaced.
  • Do not use if defective : Do not use the string lights if they are damaged, especially if the USB-C port is affected.
  1. child safety
  • Not suitable for small children : To avoid electric shock or other injury, make sure that small children do not play with the string lights or put the connector in their mouth.
  • No hazardous materials : Make sure that no toxic materials are used that could be dangerous for children or pets.
  1. Special Notes
  • Read packaging and operating instructions : Always read the accompanying operating instructions and the manufacturer's safety instructions for specific recommendations and limitations.
  • Perform functional tests : Test the string of lights before first use and after long-term storage to ensure that it is working properly.

By following these instructions and protecting the USB-C port from moisture, you can ensure that your string of lights can be operated safely outdoors.
