Warning and safety instructions for string lights with USB-C connector (for outdoor use)

When using string lights with a USB-C connector that are suitable for outdoor use, various safety precautions must be observed to ensure safe use. Please note in particular that the USB-C connector is not waterproof.

 

1. Use and connection

• Suitable for outdoor use: These string lights are designed for outdoor use. They can be easily used outdoors in dry weather, but make sure that the connector (USB-C) does not come into direct contact with water in rain or other wet conditions.
• Connector not waterproof: The USB-C connector and cable are not waterproof. Make sure that the connector is always protected from moisture, rain, or wetness. If necessary, use a waterproof cover or a suitable protective housing for the USB-C connector when the string lights are used outdoors.
• Check power source: Connect the string lights only to a suitable USB-C power source (e.g., a weatherproof USB adapter, a power bank, or a suitable power supply unit). Make sure that the voltage complies with the recommended specifications (usually 5V).

2. Avoiding overheating

• Do not overload: Do not connect multiple string lights to a single power source unless explicitly recommended by the manufacturer to avoid overloading.
• Do not cover: Do not cover the string lights with materials that could hinder heat dissipation, as this could lead to overheating.
• Ensure air circulation: Make sure that the string lights are sufficiently ventilated and that heat does not accumulate.
3. Safety in handling
• Avoid short circuits: Make sure that the USB-C connector and cables are not damaged. A defective cable or a faulty connector can lead to short circuits or fires.
• No direct water contact: Make sure that the USB-C connector does not come into contact with water, as this could damage the electronics. In wet conditions, the connector should always be protected from water.
• Do not pull or bend: Avoid bending or pulling the cables excessively, as this can cause damage.
4. Storage and safekeeping
• Store cables safely: Store the string lights in a dry, cool place when not in use, and make sure the cable is not damaged.
• Do not store in direct sun: Do not store the string lights in places exposed to direct sunlight to avoid material fatigue or discoloration.
5. Maintenance and inspection
• Regular inspection: Regularly check the string lights for possible damage to cables, connectors, or lights. In the event of defective parts, the string lights should be immediately taken out of service and either repaired or replaced.
• Do not continue to use if defective: Do not use the string lights if they are damaged, especially if the USB-C connector is affected.
6. Child safety
• Not suitable for small children: Make sure that small children do not play with the string lights or put the connector in their mouth to avoid electric shocks or other injuries.
• No hazardous materials: Make sure that no toxic substances are used that could be dangerous for children or pets.
7. Special notes
• Read packaging and operating instructions: Always read the enclosed operating instructions and the manufacturer's safety instructions to take specific recommendations and restrictions into account.
• Perform functional tests: Test the string lights before first use and after prolonged storage to ensure that they are working properly.
